O que esperar da Conexpo?

By Cristián Peters Quiroga23 January 2023

Just a few months after closing and packaging their booths at the Bauma fair in Germany in October, construction equipment manufacturers have regrouped and are preparing for another big show, ConExpo-Con/Agg 2023 in Las Vegas.

News with periodic update - See some of the companies that will be in Conexpo 2023

With the expanded exhibition space already sold out, hopes are high for the American show. ConExpo 2020, which closed a day earlier due to the impending covid-19 pandemic, was a general success, but caused extreme stress to exhibitors and participants.

But all this is in the past and the 2023 show is getting ready to erase any bad memory. Recognized as the largest trade fair in North America, ConExpo officially sold out all available exhibition space in early December 2022, according to the Equipment Manufacturers Association (AEM) trade show planner. ConExpo 2023 will be the largest in history.

"The addition of the new West Hall and Diamond Lot at the Las Vegas Convention Center has provided us and our exhibitors with a number of new opportunities to show how we are taking the construction industry to the next level," said the show's director. , Dana Wuesthoff. "Now, with 2.8 million square feet of exhibits, construction professionals have more to see than ever."

Just as Bauma was a little different in October, ConExpo will also be different. Manitowoc Cranes will not be officially exhibiting, although some of its dealers exhibit their cranes. In October, Manitowoc President Aaron Ravenscroft told CLA's sister magazine, American Cranes & Transport, that the company had chosen to invest its resources in bauma instead of ConExpo. "I think, first of all, the timing was very difficult to do two shows in a world-class way," he said. "For us, it was driven by time."

On the contrary, U.S. companies and equipment manufacturers with U.S. subsidiaries that did not participate in Bauma intend to cause unrest in Las Vegas.

Bigger and better

The fair, now almost 5% higher than the record set in 2020, will have 1,800 exhibitors and 150 educational sessions. More than 150,000 people are expected at the fair.

Wuesthoff said that despite being the largest ConExpo in history, recent additions to the Las Vegas Convention Center (LVCC) will make navigation easier. Below the entire LVCC campus is the Convention Center Loop, an underground transportation system designed by Elon Musk's The Boring Company that transports convention attendees across campus in less than two minutes in Tesla vehicles, for free.

"We are excited to welcome ConExpo-Con/Agg back to Las Vegas for another record-breaking event," said Brian Yost, chief operating officer of the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority, owner and operator of LVCC. "The addition of West Hall and the Convention Center Loop will only further enhance the 'Only Vegas' experience for attendees and exhibitors."

Double registration fee

Construction professionals are also ready for the return of the show. The current registration rate for participants is almost double what it was at the time for the 2020 fair, AEM reported.

"This is the event that construction professionals, especially those who make decisions at the company level and those who need hours of professional development, can't miss," said Caterpillar President and Senior Vice President Phil Kelliher. "Seeing the new equipment and techniques on a screen is nothing like seeing everything in person. At the fair, you can see the equipment, ask questions with the manufacturers themselves and really understand what equipment and education can do for your career and your business."

Some of the companies that will be present at the event are:

Cummins

Cummins will showcase its new 15-liter engine platform that supports a variety of fuels, with hydrogen, biogas and diesel engines. At booth S84615, the company will offer OEMs the opportunity to accelerate the decarbonization of heavy off-road applications.

"THE FLEX-MAT Modular PLUS has been specially developed to withstand harsh sieving conditions with the most abrasive materials such as granite and basalt," major says.

The efficiency-boosting characteristics of all FLEX-MAT sorting mats, including the Modular PLUS series, are created by joining the OptimumWire, a durable wire with distinct polyurethane strips. The wires vibrate independently from end to end in contact with the material. The high frequency of cables, from 8,000 to 10,000 cycles per minute, adds to the vibration of the sieve box, from 800 to 900 cycles per minute, to accelerate the separation and passage of the material.

Major will be at booth C32267.

Montabert

The Montabert will be located in West Hall, booth W42229 and the new products that will be highlighted at the fair include the SD Compact Breaker. According to the company, the SD hydraulic hammer line is designed to adapt to compact vehicles such as mini excavators and scallozers.

With fewer wear parts and no fasteers, the SD line offers quick and easy maintenance in the field or in the workshop. Bushings, pins and tools can be easily replaced in the field without removing the circuit breaker from the holder. The fully closed, soundproof cradle reduces vibrations transferred to the conveyor, limiting noise in the workplace. The lightweight, sturdy housing protects workpieces and hoses. A unique power chamber acts as a hydraulic damper, reducing pressure variations in hydraulic circuits to provide consistent power to the hammer. The SD line includes seven models for compact conveyors from 1 ton to 12 ton.

Philippi Hagenbuch

With safety, stability and increased productivity as brands of its design, Philippi-Hagenbuch's patented line of rear ejection bodywork offers a great solution for challenging transport applications, from general construction, road and sand/gravel construction to mine recovery and underground transport situations where overloading barriers can hinder the work of traditional tippers.

Easily adaptable to any articulated off-road truck make and model, as well as various rigid chassis trucks, the brand's rear ejection bodies reduce the challenges associated with traditional tipper buckets. By eliminating the need to lift the truck body, the rear ejection series allows materials to be unloaded safely in motion and in the presence of elevated barriers.

Philippi-Hagenbuch will discuss how this technology can be customized for individual operations at booth W42435.

Road Widener

Road Widener LLC. now offers a spray bar system that increases the versatility of its patented Offset Vibratory Rolle accessory.
